Local Attractions

The Fair City of Perth is majestically set upon the River Tay and is famous for its varied specialist shops and its many cafes, superb restaurants and bars. From early summer the floral displays that adorn the town are a delight to see. There are several museums to visit including the Black Watch Regimental Museum and for entertainment there is the theatre, concert hall, cinema, ice rink, leisure pool and nearby Scone race course.

Travel:

Perth is within easy reach of Edinburgh and Glasgow International airports. The apartment is only 5 minutes drive from the M90/A90 Edinburgh to Aberdeen route and only 10 minutes to the M9/A9 that links Perth with Stirling and Inverness, making travel around the area easy. The train service runs to all parts of Scotland and the local buses provide an alternative form of cheap transport.

Perthshire Fishing

Fishing: An array of river and loch fishing available to the game and coarse angler alike. The River Tay which runs through the heart of Perthshire is one of the premier salmon and trout rivers of Europe. This is truly an angler’s paradise. (Permits required)

Willowgate Trout & Salmon Fishery. The fishery comprises of a 9 acre fly only trout loch and 4 miles of Salmon fishing on the River Tay. The loch is regularly stocked with grade one fully finned hard fighting Rainbow, Blue & Brown Trout with a minimum size of 2lb up to 15lb + and is open all year round.

Forbes Of Kingennie fishing. Kingennie has trout (rainbow, blue, gold, brown) and coarse fishing, with bait and fly-fishing on four well-stocked pools year-round. Created and owned by former Scottish National Fly Fishing Champion Mike Forbes, the complex at Kingennie includes a Country House with restaurant, and an angling equipment and gift shop.
